Moortown is a very popular Leeds suburb, benefiting from a brilliant range of housing and excellent transportation links. It has a good selection of local amenities, with plenty to see and do in and around the area. Approximately 3 miles north of Leeds city centre, it’s an especially popular choice for professionals and families.

Moortown has great, easy links to Leeds city centre. Buses run regularly and it’s just a short journey via car. You’ll also find it easy to get to nearby places such as York and Harrogate. Both are just 45 minutes away, and if you want to travel a little further, the Yorkshire Dales are also close.

In and around the area, there are great primary and secondary schools on offer.

Moortown benefits from a very convenient location, with all of the amenities you could need within easy reach. There’s a great shopping centre located on the Moortown Corner junction, including banks, a large Marks and Spencer supermarket, and restaurants. There’s also a library, DIY stores and a large Sainsbury’s supermarket nearby. If you love to hit the gym, you’ll also be impressed by the David Lloyd Complex.

Restaurants available within the area cater to all tastes. You’ll find plenty of takeaways, as well as international restaurants and carvery establishments. There’s a great local pub, the Lord Darcy, and of course, being just a short distance away from the city centre, there’s a lot of bars and restaurants to enjoy.

Plenty of things to see and do

There’s a number of great things to do in and around Moortown. The nearby Eccup Reservoir is great for those who enjoy walking and wildlife spotting. Keen golfers will also love the Sand Moor and Moortown courses.

If you venture a little further, Roundhay Park and Tropical World is a fantastic attraction for the whole family. It regularly hosts events throughout the year.
